i like them all i like the vintage because of the low end response the gibson was good but, the epiphone with a pickup switch like the wintage would be fine

Ok the sound sounds individual to everyone , but if you compare the epiphone and the Vinatage the quality of the Vintage is a lot better .
April 25th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Well that’s wrong, the wood of an epi is different. lower quality

Canada. They are a tribute band. Irony is obviously lost on some… They rocked though.

Thank you and I agree 100% on your comment on buying what feels and sounds best to that individual!!

the vintage was ok was muddy in my opinion, i liked the epiphone it sounded close to the gibby, but the gibby had a lil more bite.

yup,i agree
you can drop 3000euro’s on a guitar and it still not might have the sound you are looking for
imo an epiphone with gibson pu’s does the job just as well for a third of the price

Your video is superb, so thank for that part. Secondly, the wars over Gibson v Epi will go on forever. My take is guitar greats play what works best for the sound they seek., and if its based on money, you may be disappointed either way.

May 6th, 2009 at 1:39 am

I heard that vintage is better than epiphone… a lot of people say it in forums (who has tryed it). Is it true?
May 11th, 2009 at 11:42 am
i think the epiphone sounds the best
May 14th, 2009 at 10:19 am

May 17th, 2009 at 11:46 am
Thanks man.
May 18th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
ok, im gonna say this one more time, your didnt do terrable, or anything, i was pointing out a wrong note in the back in black song on the epiphone one, thats it, the last one sounded beast

The Gibson will give you the edge over the cheaper guitar. It’s different wood and different hardware, in other words the cheaper guitars only LOOK similar. I think if you are a live player and you are serious about what you are doing, you should get a Gibson and get that extra quality. But if you are a bedroom player, or a beginner, you might be better off getting a cheaper guitar.

I feel the same. You make a good point, I also have the Epiphone (Stock Pickups). I still prefer the Epiphone with Stock to the Gibsons that are on that Epiphone.
Basically:
1. Epiphone with Stock
2. Vintage with Wilkinson
3. Gibson
4. Epiphone with Gibsons

You’re pretty much right. Can’t hear much difference on this vid but, for my money, the Vintage sounds best (and I have the Epiphone myself) but it depends on what YOU want from your guitar. Just good tone or good tone and high snob value
May 29th, 2009 at 5:59 am
I think the biggest issue here is whether or not you can hear $2500 worth of difference between all three guitars. I personally cannot. The Vintage with the custom pickups sounded VERY GOOD. There is a certain snob appeal to the Gibson SG, but come on…it’s really the player, not the guitar. Very well done, sir. Your tone is spot on.

What is the vintage? VS6?
May 31st, 2009 at 9:56 pm
No offense taken. I guess you like what you like, though =) and I like cheap instruments. I always think: “Why pay more for a name on a headstock?” Am I right?
Peace man. I’ll subscribe.

Nice one! I am off to see them at the London O2 in April.
The first guitar is a “Vintage” Brand SG. Very cheap but very good!
